Duncan Zuur is synonymous with Dutch wakeboarding. Between 2000 and 2004 he scooped five straight national titles, and a third-placed finish at the 2003 World Championships in Sydney sent his profile global.
Countless more successes came his way before Duncan decided to shift his focus away from the regimented competition scene and onto freestyle and demonstration riding. In 2006 he brought Amsterdam to a standstill when he raced through the city’s canals being towed by a helicopter, and in Vienna he sessioned a swimming pool at the top of a skyscraper. Perhaps his most ambitious stunt to date though was when he hooked onto the back of a passenger ferry in Istanbul and played in the wake all the way across the Sea of Marmara to Bandirma. Duncan Zuur – a visionary, a nutter, a legend.
